Being freshman in college can be quite overwhelming with all the pressures and the packing and stuff. This list is a list of things I find to be essential for a comfortable dorm life. I hope you enjoy some of my tips and tricks for moving into your dorm.
Tips:
-Do not overpack, you don´t need those 50 pairs of shoes in your closet specially because the one you get is likely to be very small. Keep clothing pieces to a minimum and find essential wardrobe pieces so that you can mix and match
-Have a fridge. I found this to be extremely essential specially if you wanna be somewhat healthy, or healthy through out the school year. You can rent one from your school or find really cheap online alternatives.
- Use your comforter as decoration. This applies to girls who like to decorate your room. Your bed is probably the biggest piece of furniture in your dorm so by using a colorful comforter you can completely change the vibe of those boring walls.
- With your roommate arrange what furniture pieces you are bringing and what he/she is bringing so that way you can save up space and probably some money too.
List of essentials:
Bedding:
- Comforter
- Bed sheets at least 2
- Bed skirt
- Pillow cases
Desk:
- Lamp
-Pens /Pencils
-Book
- Corkboard (optional)
Closet:
-Hangers (buy the skinny ones to save space)
- Baskets for storage
Storage:
Below bed storage bins
Kitchen: you probably wont have a kitchen but keeping these things are very useful
- Coffee or tea mug
- Water bottle
- Plate
-Fork/ Spoon
That is it. Those are what I found completely essential to have for my college dorm life years.
