Dolly Wink Eyeliner Review

This eyeliner is so talked about basically everywhere and when people speak good about eyeliner I am in to try it. In the States getting Dollywink is a bit harder than here in Korea. So, if you are interested in trying it out yourself, I would suggest Ebay or Amazon.

Anyways, this is a review on what I think about the eyeliner and if you have your own post please let me know on comments below.

My first thoughts:
When I first tried it on, I immediately did not like it. It was very liquidy and runny and the color was bleeding all over. The first pigment of the eyeliner was also very light and more on the gray side than black. So I went back to shaking it well just to make sure I had all the color deposited. Tried again, fail. I was so disappointed that the color payoff was not great. Because I tried it on my hand I decided to take it off and the little line would not disappear I was impressed by how it just stuck there. I actually used a scrub to take it out later.

Now that I have had the liquid Eyeliner for over three days it has dried out a bit and the eyeliner is really black. I don't know if I recommend it over my holy grail eyeliner Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, but it stays all day and I barely had any smudging and even though I needed two layers of eyeliner to get my wanted results it did stay on all day.

With no Eye primer.

Swatch in hand

I also like it because of its really thin felt tip brush. It makes doing the outer part of the eyeliner easier.

Let me know what your  thoughts are on this bad boy.

A Valentine's Day Look

Hello my friends!

Filming takes so much more time than blogging with the editing and all. I am currently editing a video on outfits, however due to time I am not sure if its going to be able to go up soon enough for Valentines day. This is a look I love to wear when I go on dates with my boyfriend since it is very simple yet very romantic.

Here is one idea on how you can wear your makeup for Valentine day.

What are your favorite looks for Valentine?

Post your videos and links below.

How to Organize in Small Spaces

Hello Lovelies!!

This video is all about organizing in small spaces. If you  live in a college dorm, are a college student with a budget, or share a roommate you totally understand what I mean. In my room back home, having a walk in closet was so comfortable, but everything changed once I reached college. These tips are awesome if you need space saving in your closet, jewelry and makeup.

Recycle:

Recycling Wine bottles and using them as bracelet holder is a very good way to organize and decorate. Use them for headbands and necklaces too.

Magazines are great decor. Specially in dorm rooms where you can't use nails so using photos and cut-outs from magazines to create collages gives the impression that your room is well put and a bit more interesting and colorful.

Stacking Magazines:

I love my magazines, but once you finish reading them instead of taking them to your bathroom and stacking them opt for stacking them and using them to help display jewelry. As shown below, I use my magazines to create a platform for my makeup and jewelry.

Use what you have:

You don't need extra decor in a small space. Specially because it can create clutter and that is what you don't want at all, right? So if you have a nice perfumebottle display and try to create a balance between all the products by displaying them neatly and kind of messy at the same time.

Use kitchen utensils:

A lot of times kitchen utensils are great for jewelry organizers. The wooden thing you see below is actually a cup hanger but I use them for my bracelets.

For Makeup:
Use lipstick holders: lipstick holders are the best way to display your lipstick. This way you won't forget what lipsticks you have and will be easy to grab if you are on the go. Buying lipstick holders is really easy. I bought mine at The Container Store but you can also get them at Ebay or Amazon.

Hang your brushes
I used to always keep my brushes in a my brush roller, but by displaying them I reach for them more often. I chose to hang them because my small space does not have more space to keep it elsewhere.

Maximize Space:

I use a hanger to put cotton swabs and your brushes. I also use it to put my cameras and some cables. This way it is easier for me to find it later.

What are some of your ideas on space saving and organizing?

Let me know in the comments below. Have a Great day.

Yumi
PS: stay tuned for part TWO!!

C2C: 3 Highlighters (Review)

Hello!

A definite must-have for me during the winter are my face highlighters. It makes me glow like a twilight vampire. For the winter time everything becomes really dull so a little bit of shimmer can really spice up your face.

I love to use highlighter everywhere (not at the same time though!) but I really enjoy using it on my inner corners -that's a whole different review- on my high cheek bones and as eyeshadow when I want a pop to my eyes. I also enjoy using it on my cupids bow in my mouth.

The three highlighters that I will be showing today are one of my favorite highlighters I have tried. These are the three that I currently own and have in Korea, but I do not think I need more either.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish- Soft and Gentle

This gorgeous Skinfinish from MAC is one of my favorite highlighters of all time. It is very shimmery and can even have a glittery look to it if you apply too much. However, the right amount of this product will make your skin look like its glowing from beneath. I have used this as an eyeshadow, on my cupids bow, on the arch of my brows and of course on my cheek bones. It is a must-have for me and my dull winter skin.

Nar Orgasm Highlighter

This is a love hate relationship for me since I find it to be very pinkish. I love mixing this with my foundation to give it a bit of a shimmer.

What's in my bag Tag!!

Hello everyone,

I haven't updated my blog lately but that doesnt mean I have not updated my videos on youtube if you follow me there you must have seen several new videos.

This video is one that I made with Makeupbyjoyk and we met in Myeondong like a month ago. It was really fun and interesting to see another youtuber. Find people who have the same interests as you. Anyways we really wanted to fill together so we came up with the idea that we should do a bag tag because it was the best choice in a public place.

I did not have all the usual things I carry, but this is a very basic idea if you want a more in depth description, video or blog post please let me know on the comments below.

Don't forget to check out her videos as well since she is very nice and talented:)

August Beauty Favorites!

Hello ladies!
Long time no talk! I know I keep promising and quite honestly I am also tired of promising and promising and never actually stepping through. But anyways just wanted to show some of my favorite Summer products this 2012.
This summer has been a really long one for me. I was in Mexico for 3 months and then traveled to Korea. That is the reason I have not been blogging or recording. I am currently at a study abroad program in South Korea just so that I can learn the language. It has been so fun!!!
Anyways, because I have been in Korea for a month already some of my products are definitely Korean beauty products, but you can always find them online if interested.

My backpack: I bought this at Ide. Really close to the Ehwa Womens University here in Seoul and it has definitely been a savior to my back. I actually have not carried a backpack since middle school, but since in Korea I walk a lot a purse is just out of the question.

Shiseido Bio- Performance:
If you know me or if you have seen my videos the thing that probably stands out the most are my dark circles. I am pretty sure there is no cure for them yet, but using an eyecream everynight really helps to avoid looking like a panda in the morning. And of course a good concealer. LOL

Hanskin Light Touch BB cream:
This BB cream is amazing. I simply love how it is not too creamy and dense like other bb creams and it just glides on my skin. I still like to use it with a moisturizer underneath because of my dry skin. I recommend this mostly for combination skin. This was perfect for me this summer since the weather in Korea is just so humid!! Arghh.. but its cooling down now. Whenever it comes to skin I would prefer to spend a little more money because we only have one skin, and if you put cheap chemicals on it the consequences are severe in the future. So treat your skin well:)
BB CREAM

A small swatch. Matches my Skin perfectly

Banila Co. Contour Brush: I hadn't really heard or bought any of their products but I am really impressed with it. It reminds me of Benefit Cosmetics (Probably founded on the same idea). This contour brush is amazing because the bristles are really soft and this works amazing for contouring.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream: I finished my Clinique Moisturizer what was perfect for winter and spring. This face cream is so much lighter than Clinique's one, but definitely perfect for my dry skin. It was the perfect amount of moisture throughout the day without being too heavy for summer.

Etude Cookie Blusher:

Such amazing blushes I am not even kidding and for the price it is truly amazing I really like both but my absolute fave is Grapefruit Jelly.

Beach Babe Beauty

Hello ladies!!!!
How are you long time no talk well only a week, but still I have been really focused on my blog that I write in Spanish. That blog is a bit different because it is mostly about reviews and product consideration and more good things like that.

Today, I want to give you some tips on how to look like a beach babe if you are going on vacation or if you just want to look glowing and radiant.

Remember that:
  • In the Sun and heat, a lot of makeup is going to look so unnatural and may fall with sweat. So try to go as bare as you possibly can. Also avoid using foundations instead use tinted moisturizers or the very famous bbcream.
  • When using mascaras, or eye pencils go with a more waterproof formula or take a trip to the salon and get your brows and lashes tinted
  • Use SUNSCREEN and use a lipstick that also contains SPF to avoid getting those dark wrinkled lips.

Tips:
  •  Before you expose yourself to the sun and want to get that miraculous tan consider getting a fake tan. That will make you not want to expose yourself.
  • Bright nails look great with a tan
  • For your eyes use golden-tone eyeshadows that will complement your tan
  • Use a pearlescent highlighter to bring out your cheekbones
  • Clear or brown mascara makes everything look more natural.
  • For the lips  use warm pinks, bronzes, golds, and beiges. Avoid frosty finishes

What are you doing this Summer?

Hello all!!!:D

I know long time no talk right?! I have missed blogging so much but now that it is summer I feel I should do it again. Blogging is just so much fun and it is so different than anything. If my grammar is wrong please forgive me, as english is my second language.

Anyways, moving on to the good stuff!!! What are you doing this summer? If you are constantly bored in your house, stuck on the internet, or anything of that sort I will give you some ideas on what to do!!!

DIY PROJECTS

In my opinion Do it yourself projects is the best way to spend summer. It keeps you busy and with things to do. I love these types of projects because it can really vary. You can do jewelry, decor, furniture, and where ever your creativity takes you. If you are not really the creative type I suggest to look up tutorials on Youtube, stumbleupon or just google whatever you want to make. Personally for me it has all been about doing jewelry fun arm candy's and figuring out ways to change up my room and make it more colorful this summer.

EXERCISE

I have to be honest. I haven't done this. In my defense I really really want to. I just can't find enough motivation or whatnot, but I really want to do it. Exercise is a really fun way to spend your time in summer. You will look hot and toned and everyone will want to be you! So get your butt up and get your exercise on. If you don't like to exercise than take another activity such as dancing that will also have a little cardio in it. Just keep yourself really active.

Here are some Youtubers I enjoy watching for inspiration:

I know we all say we can't look like them, but why have to be like another person? be yourself. I enjoy this video because it just really shows simple yet great workouts. Check out the whole series.

She is very very fit, and personally for me this is not what I try to achieve, but if you like to push yourself in your workouts she is the girl to go to for help.

If you want to have a good laugh while getting inspired click on this video above.

GET A JOB

If you are a college student, or anyone for that matter I believe that working is good because you get money and you gain experience. If you have no opportunities or can't work. Sell your things. For example, lets say you are a great bracelet maker. Sell them!! you will make money while doing the things that are fun and simple. If you are also talented in dancing offer classes to kids.  In my case I am doing makeup on people and expanding my portfolio.

TAKE A CLASS

Let's just say you have always loved bellydance but you have never really tried it. Why not do it this summer right? YOLO (ok I hate that word but it is true) spend your time doing things you really enjoy. I take classes every friday to keep on working on my makeup skills and I LOVE IT!

So, I really hope some of my ideas were helpful and you are already enjoying your summer. I will do more blogs on Summer beauty tips and Summer fashion soon!!!!

I missed you guys so much!!!

Golden Globes 2012 TRENDS

Headbands: Wow I was so impressed with the headbands in the red carpet my absolute favorite one was Charlize theron who obviously thrived in her Dior dress. Headbands are also cute and accesorizable.

Yellow Dress: Yellow dresses were a huge statement this year. They certainly shined, personally it is not my style to wear yellow but the red carpet season has definitely put a start to it.

The Blues: should I say  more?

Pastel Colors: Pastel dresses are my favorite type of dress. They go with my personality and I definitely believe that they are more elegant and subtle.

Best Dressed

Charlize Theron was absolutely beautiful. Everyone rocked the red carpet and really looked amazing. This year the red carpet Golden Globes were so much better the dresses were incredible and they all did amazing jobs!

I haven't found the worst dressed yet but I'm sure there are some in hiding. lol

MAKE SURE TO COMMENT your favorite dress and trends below:)

2012 Beauty Resolutions

Hey gorgeous ladies!!
How are you today? well first of all I am so sorry I have not blogged in over a month but I was home and I was concentrated in being home. I really hope you all had an amazing holiday. I wanted to share some of my resolutions and maybe inspire you to get them too because my mistakes are common beauty mistakes  everyone can make.

First of all: I will soon be posting a video with my skincare routine so that I can inspire you to be better or change it up. And of course just to share.

Resolutions for the year 2012
1. Keep my makeup brushes clean: It is so disgusting when I don't do so. It makes them look dirty and just not nice. It also builds up bacteria which is terrible for your face.
2. Wash my face daily: For some reason I really hate facial soap. I breakout from most of them and I really haven't found one that works with my really sensitive skin.

If you know of any facial soap that works with sensitive skin please let me know on the comments down below

3. Use eyecream: Because I loveee wearing eyeliner and shadows I'm worried I will get wrinkles soon. So if you know any eyecream that works with prevention please let me know!!!:D

Please share with me your resolutions beauty wise or not I would love to know!!!!

5 THINGS I ASKED SANTA TAG

Hello gorgeous ladies,

So, I was tagged by my one of my followers called Curious Ladybug. She tagged me to do a blog on five things I wanted for Christmas. I was having a tough time figuring out what I would ask Santa this year. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share what beauty related products I am missing or wanting. Sephora has great gift sets for all those makeup lovers like me. These are the things I would ask for:

1. Skincare 1 2 3 White Lucent Brightening: Two weeks ago, I visited Sephora and I stumbled upon this limited edition skincare set. It looked really great and I know from experience that Shiseido products are great!

 2. Twilight Woods: This smells amazing and the whole set is just too cute to be true. This is from Bath and Body Works.

3. Smashbox Perfect Complexion: This is a gorgeous set and I have been dying to try Smashbox foundation line.

4. Wild & Chic Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER Kit: This is a perfect Christmas Gift because it has the best of Makeup Forevers products. I am a absolute fan of this brand. Giving a gift like this is easier because you do not have to look for a perfect shade for the person you are buying the gift. This gift set matches all skin tones.

5. Lots of love!!!! <3<3 Christmas is about spending time with family and loved ones. Giving is the best part of it all.

Hope you liked my ideas. Please share which one you liked the most and if you would buy it for yourself or someone else.

I AM TAGGING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU TO DO A 5 THINGS I ASKED SANTA BLOG OR VIDEO RESPONSE. I would be so excited in reading what is on your list.

All these gifts are under 50 dollars!
Check them out at  Sephora !!! and Bath and Body Works

5 Best Black Eyeliners

Most makeup looks include using eyeliner and it is one of the most important parts of the a makeup look. I have tried almost every high end and drugstore eyeliner whether it is liquid, gel or pencil. These are the ones I recommend the most.

1.     MAC Fluid line Gel: This is the best eyeliner I have used so far. I always by different products to try them but I also end up back with this one. It can take you to the perfect smokey eye smudge, or to the perfect winged look. It is not perfect because there is still no perfect eyeliner. It is very black and durable.
2.     Palladio Waterproof Pencil: This is a waterproof pencil and I like this one a lot. Palladio is not known for their eye pencils but I truly believe this one is perfect. It is waterproof which makes the pencil last longer. It is very pigmented and glides on smoothly. I have one of these in almost every color.
3.     Milani: This pencil has it pros and cons, but made my list of best five eyeliners. It is very pigmented which is a huge plus. Plus it is the smoothest pencil there is. It does not smudge, but if you are looking to smudge it out, you should do it as soon as you apply it. The big con about this pencil for me is that it does not last. After some time the pigment will fade and it will smudge. It is still greatly priced and a great product
4.     Urban Decay 24/7: This liquid eyeliner is great for wings and coverage. It is also very black and like most liquid eyeliners this one does not irritate my eyes when I use them. It is long lasting but the line is most likely to get chipped or flaky sooner or later. But, in comparison to other liquid eyeliners it is great. Cons: pricey
5.     Revlon Colorstay Waterproof: If the palladio pencil did not work I would most definitely use this one. It is great and very similar to palladio. The difference between them both is that Colorstay fades away faster than the other.
Brands I would not suggest buying:
-L’oreal
-Maybelline
-Lancome
-Makeup Forever
- Covergirl

Comment down below what the best eyeliners for you are.

ALL opinions are my own.

Winged Eyeliner for Pin-Up look

NO MAKEUP
1. Start with a clean eye

2. Apply a thin layer of Eye Primer, use whichever you have available. I am using Urban Decay's Primer Potion

              3. Using a shadow whichever is best for you and your skin tone       (beige or gold) apply with a large shader brush in the eyelid.

4.  Do the eyeliner. CAUTION: the eyeliner is the most important part of the whole makeup look. Practice makes lines better
5. On the inner corner of your eye apply a lighter shadow to make your eyes pop. Apply a very light eyeliner I used Palladio Eye Pencil in Green in the  lower waterline.

6. Curl your lashes
7. Proceed to do touchups on the eye (more highlighter, shadow, eyeliner)
8. Finish the eye

Proceed to doing the rest of the makeup: brows, foundation, etc

If you like this please let me know and comment down below!:)

Have a nice day ladies
